I'm not a Victim, I am a Survivor!
My story of a small-town girl raised in the Missouri bootheel, that endured abuse and neglect as a child and was dismissed by those in power that should have protected me. I encountered the unjust racial disparity because I found love in a boy who didn't fit the description of acceptance by my mother and stepfather. Therefore, I was forced into a relationship that changed my life forever. Through it all, I never gave up and never lost hope that one day I would rise above it all and escape the horrors of my reality.
My goal is to encourage others to always know their worth. You are valuable. You do not have to choose to stay inside the barrier walls of abuse, neglect, domestic violence, addiction, and instability. You can rise above it!
A life of struggle and sacrifice and almost 21 years of being in the medical field has given me more experience and influence than you can ever learn in a book. Your past does not define you, YOU DO!
